Water Quality and Water Filtration Systems

Water is one of the few things we cannot live without. But, all water is not the same. Your water may be very different from your neighbor’s, both in depths of your well and in water quality and it may require a water filtration system. Poor water quality can negatively affect your health and that of your family. It can also affect the value of your home when it comes time to sell. We have all become more aware of the many elements that may be in our water. Here in Maine we have many areas with high radon, arsenic and uranium levels. Some home wells have high iron or manganese, leading to staining. And, others may have high lead, low pH, hard water, coliform, E coli, sediment, or hydrogen sulfide and other odors. So, if you have any of these concerns, and/or have wondered what may be in your water, it’s time to call Alpha Water Systems for water quality testing.

Remember the adage that says you get what you pay for? That is often the case with free water tests or quickie strip tests. The results of this water quality testing can be inaccurate and can be made to show a false positive by the sales person doing the test. We always start with a water test from an independent lab. Then, based on those results we can explain your options and recommend the best equipment and methods should you decide to treat the problem. One size does not fit all! A cartridge water filtration system on your faucet does not filter out everything. We do not believe in high pressure or scare tactics. We will give you the knowledge to help you make your decisions.
